Podiatric Trauma Specialist

Patients experiencing foot and ankle injuries in Newnan, GA, can now see Dr. Ruchi Ram at our Village Podiatry Clinic. Dr. Ram is a podiatric physician and surgeon who can treat all types of traumas, from breaks to ligament tears, for patients of all ages – even little ones!

While in medical school, Dr. Ram became interested in podiatry because it allows her to do both surgery and routine foot care for patients. She enjoys being able to build relationships with her patients and seeing their progress over time.

As a trauma specialist, patients who experience broken bones, ruptured tendons, acute injuries or ligament ruptures and tears can get in to see Dr. Ram much quicker than they might at an orthopedist’s office. And because of her whole-person philosophy, she doesn’t see it as treating an injury, but instead helps her patients get back to the quality of life and range of movement they had before. 

Dr. Ram completed her residency in New Jersey at a level 1 trauma center, where she saw a wide array of injuries and breaks. She worked closely alongside top orthopedists, and treated patients who often had challenging socioeconomic circumstances. Working with these patients, Dr. Ram ensured that they received care that fit their lifestyles. 

“I like spending time with my patients to make sure they’re feeling better before they leave the office,” says Dr. Ram. “I’m not just treating their foot, I’m making sure the whole person is set up for success.”

When working with pediatric patients, Dr. Ram knows and understands in intricacies of working with growing bodies. Breaks and injuries can often impact growth plates and cause problems later in life. She enjoys building relationships with both the young patients and their parents to ensure the best possible outcomes.
