Alex Gilroy, DPM, AACFAS, FACPM

Dr. Alex Gilroy is a fellowship-trained podiatrist dedicated to providing foot and ankle care to the Kissimmee community. A Central Florida native, he graduated from West Shore Junior/Senior High School in Melbourne before earning his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiological Sciences, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Florida. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where he also completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical residency at Nazareth Hospital, serving as chief resident in his final year.

During residency, Dr. Gilroy expanded his experience through a 2023 medical mission trip to the Gaza Strip, where he performed surgeries for patients in need of advanced foot and ankle care. He remains passionate about continuing mission work throughout his career. Following residency, he completed a highly specialized fellowship at the Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic/Professional Education and Research Institute in Roanoke, Virginia, under the mentorship of Dr. Charles Zelen. His fellowship provided training in Charcot foot reconstruction, pantalar arthrodesis, limb salvage, minimally invasive surgery, flatfoot reconstruction, total ankle arthroplasty, and trauma surgery.

Dr. Gilroy is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM), a Fellow of the American College of Podiatric Medicine (FACPM), and board-qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). He chose his residency program in Philadelphia specifically because it served the Puerto Rican community—a population close to his heart given his own family roots. This dedication played a major role in his decision to return to Kissimmee, where he hopes to continue serving Puerto Rican patients both locally and abroad.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gilroy enjoys reading, surfing, and playing basketball, and is an avid supporter of the Orlando Magic. Most importantly, he is grateful to return home to Central Florida to serve the residents of Osceola County with skill, compassion, and dedication.
