Thomas Kunkel, DPM

Dr. Thomas W. Kunkel has been dedicated to the field of podiatric medicine for nearly four decades, serving patients since 1987 after graduating from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completing his residency at Youngstown Foot Clinic. A graduate of Oberlin College, Dr. Kunkel’s passion for podiatry grew directly from his lifelong love of running. An avid runner for more than 50 years, he credits the sport with inspiring his career caring for patients’ foot and ankle health.

Dr. Kunkel carries on a rich tradition of podiatric care through a practice passed down from two respected predecessors, whose work in the community dates back many decades. He values building genuine, personal relationships with his patients and takes pride in helping people leave his office feeling better than when they arrived.

Beyond his practice, Dr. Kunkel has remained active in community service, having served on multiple boards, and is a Past President of the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association as well as a former delegate to the American Podiatric Medical Association. Outside the office, he enjoys gardening, running, reading, and spending time with his wife Debbie, their five sons, and eleven grandchildren, who keep family life lively and full.
