Shakisha Lawson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in primary care, outpatient care, correctional health, and hospital-based nursing. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from South University. Her diverse clinical background allows her to effectively manage acute and chronic conditions while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Before pursuing advanced practice nursing, Shakisha served in the United States Army and completed three overseas tours. Her military experience helped shape the discipline, adaptability, and commitment to excellence she brings to patient care today.

Shakisha has a strong focus on preventative medicine, chronic disease management, and patient education, with particular expertise in conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. She is passionate about value-based care and empowering patients to take an active role in their long-term health and wellness. As she expands her clinical expertise into foot and ankle care, she is dedicated to helping patients maintain mobility, prevent complications, and improve overall quality of life through individualized, evidence-based treatment.

Known for her compassionate and approachable nature, Shakisha strives to build meaningful relationships with patients through trust, education, and open communication. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and confident in their care.

Outside of work, Shakisha enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their three children, traveling, staying active, and exploring new restaurants. She values self-care, family, and community, and believes in promoting the same balanced, healthy lifestyle she encourages in her patients.
