About Melissa Cruz

Melissa R. Cruz, ARNP, FNP-BC, has been working in healthcare since 2013, drawn to the profession by the experience of caring for her chronically ill grandmother. What began as a personal calling became a lifelong career, as she worked her way from CNA to RN and ultimately to Nurse Practitioner—always guided by a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. She began her advanced practice career in 2021, working in both family medicine and pediatric urgent care, before discovering her true passion in caring for older adults.

Melissa specializes in family medicine with a particular focus on the geriatric population, combining clinical expertise with a holistic, culturally competent approach that honors the whole person. She builds strong, trusting relationships with her patients and their families, believing that every individual deserves care that respects their background, values, and unique needs. Her clinical practice is defined by compassion, personalization, and a commitment to helping patients achieve the best possible quality of life.

Outside of work, Melissa loves spending time with her husband, two boys, and their mini cockapoo, Cooper—whether hiking, exploring the outdoors, or planning trips to Disney. An avid reader of thrillers and mysteries, she can often be found immersed in a book or winding down with a true crime documentary. She also holds a degree in culinary arts and carries forward her grandmother’s legacy of cooking with love, often alongside her children.
