James Sills-Powell, DPM, MS, MBA

Dr. Sills-Powell was raised in south-central Kansas and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southwestern College, followed by a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.

He completed a three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency (PMSR) at SSM DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where he gained extensive training in foot and ankle reconstruction, trauma care, and complex lower extremity conditions.

Dr. Sills-Powell practiced in the St. Louis area from 2013 to 2025, treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions. He also served as Co-Director of the SSM Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy program, specializing in advanced wound care, limb salvage, and hyperbaric medicine.

His clinical interests include sports medicine, pediatric podiatry, wound care, reconstructive surgery, diabetic Charcot deformities, and minimally invasive techniques. He is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) and is pursuing full certification.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sills-Powell enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, along with camping, RV travel, kayaking, golf, and home improvement projects. He also enjoys mentoring residents and students.
