April Stidham, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

April Stidham is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of experience providing primary care and internal medicine services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. She completed her Family Nurse Practitioner specialty training in 1997 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Virginia in 2012 and. She also earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Virginia’s College at Wise and her Associate of Science in Nursing from Mountain Empire Community College.

April began her nursing career as a registered nurse in a community hospital, serving as a charge nurse on a medical-surgical unit before advancing into leadership and administrative roles, including nurse manager, nursing supervisor, discharge planning, education, and infection control. Throughout her career, she has practiced in rural health settings across Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee, as well as in Everett, Washington with Providence Health & Services. She currently resides in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In addition to her clinical work, April has held several academic leadership positions, including DNP Coordinator and Graduate MSN-FNP Program Director. She has taught and mentored Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner students, precepted students in clinical practice, and supported the professional development of nurse practitioners throughout her career.

Her clinical expertise includes preventive care, chronic disease management, and a variety of office-based procedures, including suturing, incision and drainage procedures, cryotherapy, pelvic exams, prostate and testicular exams, and joint injections and aspirations.

Outside of work, April enjoys traveling, celebrating holidays with family, and spending time with her husband, children, and two grandsons. She and her husband also enjoy caring for their two cats, Katie and Lily.
