About Dr. Steven McCarthy
Dr. Steven McCarthy is a podiatrist originally from Youngstown, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Ohio State University, then attended Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.
Dr. McCarthy completed his podiatric training and residency at LECOM Health in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he was named Chief Resident in his final year. During his residency, he also earned a Master of Science in Medical Education.
After residency, Dr. McCarthy practiced podiatric medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, for nine years before relocating to Georgia in 2026. He received extensive training in all areas of foot and ankle surgery, including diabetic care, wound care, trauma, arthroscopic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. His areas of focus include foot and ankle surgery, diabetic care, and wound care.
Outside of the office, Dr. McCarthy enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He is also an avid cook who loves trying new foods and restaurants. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Elyse.
