About Heather Minshew

Born and raised in Waycross, Georgia, she graduated in 1997 with an Associate Degree in Nursing from South Georgia College, Waycross Campus. Her early career spanned multiple hospital areas, including medical/surgical, pediatrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, nursery, ER, and ICU. She later worked as a hemodialysis nurse while furthering her education, completing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Georgia Southern University in 2013. She then practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in nephrology and internal medicine in Waycross until 2022, followed by four years with Clinch Memorial Family Practice and Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville, GA, caring for pediatric and adult patients through preventive care, comprehensive primary care, sick visits, and Medication Assisted Treatment. She enjoys working with patients of all ages, helping them understand their health and adopt preventive, proactive lifestyle changes to manage and improve conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, and obesity.

Outside of work, she treasures time with her family — her husband of 18 years, 4 sons, and 4 grandchildren — and enjoys reading, music, dancing, cooking, and long walks on the beach.
