About Dr. Matthew Crabtree
Dr. Matthew Crabtree, DO grew up in Lafayette, Tennessee, and earned his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University. He went on to receive his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Crabtree completed his Internal Medicine residency training in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology in Greenville, North Carolina.
After practicing as an endocrinologist in Myrtle Beach for several years, Dr. Crabtree returned to Tennessee to be closer to family. His passion for endocrinology is deeply personal. Growing up with a mother who has Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism and a stepfather with Type 1 diabetes sparked his early interest in the field. That interest became even more meaningful when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 20.
These experiences have given Dr. Crabtree a unique perspective on living with chronic endocrine conditions and have strengthened his commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. He strives to treat every patient with the same level of attention, respect, and dedication he would offer his own family, while delivering comprehensive, evidence-based endocrine care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Crabtree enjoys hiking, camping, spending time with family, building Gunpla models, and pursuing hands-on projects.
