About Dr. Arthur James

Arthur James, MD is a four- time board-certified Cardiovascular and Vascular surgeon with over 25 years experience in providing best-in-class treatments for vein disease. Dr. James earned his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL. He then received a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery from the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.  He is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Dr. James also performed medical mission work in the rural areas of Jamaica, providing surgery and medical treatment for the population.  Prior to joining Tampa Vein Center, Dr. James was director of three vein centers in Birmingham, AL , and later led a top clinic in Atlanta, GA with Vein Clinics of America.  He brings his extensive training and knowledge as well as highly rated patient satisfaction to better serve the Tampa/ St Petersburg area. Dr. James is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, as well as an active Member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and The Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
