About Dr. Joseph J. Menn

Dr. Joseph Menn is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS).   He received his Bachelors degree in biology from Wilkes University in 1984.   Following graduation, both he and his wife, Karen moved to Iowa to attend medical school.  He was awarded his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 1988 and moved to St Louis, MO, where he completed his surgical residency in 1991.  He joined Dr. Hamilton in practice in January 1992.

Dr. Menn has been involved in leadership of his profession since medical school.  He was class president of his medical school class for 4 years in Des Moines.  He became involved in the South Carolina Podiatric Medical Association early in his career and eventually moved through the leadership ranks to serve two years as president from 1998-2000.  Following that, in 2001 he was elected president of the southeastern USA division of the APMA and oversaw a 7 state region.  He served a second three-year term as president of Division 14 (southeastern USA – SC, NC, GA, TN, AL, MS, KY) for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Menn alos sat on the College’s Practice Management committee.

Dr. Menn is avid traveler and photographer (something he wishes he was better at!).   A passionate and serious martial artist, Dr. Menn holds the rank of black belt in two different styles of martial arts.  He first achieved black belt rank in Tae Kwon Do in 1987, while in medical school.  Having since changed to a different style, in August 2015 Dr. Menn was promoted to black belt in Okinawan GoJu Ryu karate.
