About Dr. Ahmed Karim

Dr. Karim brings a distinctive and disciplined approach to podiatric medicine, shaped by his eight years of service in the United States Marine Corps, including two combat deployments to Afghanistan. His military background instilled in him a strong sense of resilience, service, and integrity—values that continue to guide his patient-centered care today.

He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed his surgical residency at the William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. During his residency, he focused on forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage, trauma care, and wound management, proudly caring for fellow veterans.

Known for his calm demeanor and clear communication, Dr. Karim is deeply committed to helping patients regain mobility and independence. He builds strong relationships based on trust, empathy, and education.

Dr. Karim specializes in foot and ankle surgery, diabetic limb preservation, sports injuries, and minimally invasive procedures. He also addresses biomechanical conditions and provides customized orthotic solutions. His practice emphasizes prevention, long-term function, and mobility, tailoring care to each individual patient’s needs and lifestyle.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Karim enjoys quality time with his wife and two sons. He stays active through strength training and recreational sports and enjoys discovering new restaurants and local parks throughout the greater Birmingham area. He remains closely connected to the veteran community and is passionate about giving back whenever possible.
